February 27, 200422 yr In the settings for this card what does Truform do? Does it have any effect on FS2004? Right now I have that setting off, Would I get even better graphics with the Truform setting turned on? Thanks
February 27, 200422 yr Thanks for the link :-)Here is something from that link that I think answered my question "does it help FS2004"Why should I consider using TRUFORM
February 27, 200422 yr Hi,I'm pretty sure FS2004 does not use 'Truform'. However, just set TRUFORM to 'Application Preference' under the Direct3D tab in the Display Control panel and this, in theory, should allow any game to implement the technology if designed to use it. You may have to switch it on in game so look for an option to do so. There ain't one in FS2004.Mike
February 27, 200422 yr I just tried the Truform option and I did notice a difference. Before I had like a shimmering type effect on buildings (The straight lines on the buildings) that are alittle bit in the distance, but with the Truform option on I didn't see that shimmering effect.
February 27, 200422 yr Commercial Member Trueform has nothing to do with shimmering - that's texture filtering. Trueform is ATI's proprietery thing for rendering polygons to look more like smoth curves etc and almost no games actually support it. I'm postive FS2004 doesn't. February 27, 200422 yr That football game. I think it's called Madden or something like that. Anyway, it supports truform. With it on, the helmets are nice and round. If FS9 supported it, the effect would be nice round curves on the airplanes and engine cowlings, etc. FS9 does that nicely without truform. Besides, truform is implemented by software on all of ATI's new cards, so there'd be a framerate hit if it was supported. Which it isn't from what I understand.

Then I guess I did something else besides the Truform option, cause before I had shimmering and now I don't :-lol
February 28, 200422 yr Joe; I just turned mine on and then off again. No shimmering either way and no difference. Must of been the lighting playing tricks on your eyes or something.
