January 29, 201214 yr After searching this forum for my problem and not finding a topic on it...here I go now. :)Ever since I installed " SP1b " I get greeted with this view in 2d mode in all NGX models. I can zoom out to get a better forward view, but without " SP1b " I get a more normal 2d panel view. Just wondering if, I am the only one having this problem or it is already a known issue and is it planned on being corrected?
January 29, 201214 yr Open fsx.cfg in notepad, find the (graphics) section and set WideViewAspect=True. If the line isn't present add it. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
January 29, 201214 yr Without setting WideViewAspect to true fsx uses the same horizontal fov you would get with a 4:3 monitor and cuts the vertical fov to fit, so instead of seeing more horizontally, you see less vertically. They lowered the view slightly in sp1b because of complaints that it was too high. That magnifies the problem when fsx.cfg isn't set up properly per the NGX introduction document. I too see this view which I thought was done so as to see the taxi-way ahead. I just hit Ctrl+Space and it took me back to normal 2D view. But the answer provided by Ken seems a better option. January 29, 201214 yr In that case do a search of the ngx forum for "view too low"One of the first 2 or 3 returns will have a cfg edit for the camera angle that will fix it. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
January 29, 201214 yr Author I am sure Kens idea works for others, but yours worked for me...you are a GOD sir. :(
