February 5, 201214 yr Of late, during start up from cold n dark state, when I click the Standby Btty power I hear a loud hissing noise and when I click the APU Generators the noise gets louder. The irritating noise is so loud it even drowns the engine sounds. This problem started after I deleted the dll files of ENB mod. Please help.Ramana Nandyal Ramana Nandyal, i7 2600,3.4 GHz,16 GB RAM,Window 7 64 bit,1 TB Memory,Saitek Pro Flight Yoke,Throttles,Rudders FSX Gold,REX2, UT2
February 5, 201214 yr Is the hiss present when the APU is off?As far as i know, the only hiss that loud would be from the AC Packs or recirculation fans. Both of which are only present while under APU or ground/air connection. February 5, 201214 yr Commercial Member There is absolutely no way adding or deleting the ENB mod could cause this - that file has absolutely nothing to do with sound. Update your sound drivers, update your DirectX version etc. If that doesn't work I'd consider doing a clean reinstall of the plane - submit a ticket if you need guidance on doing that. February 5, 201214 yr I know this is not the same situation, but it's a similar problem.. I used to use a creative sound card, and used the default windows drivers that would get installed. When ever I played Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, I would get a terrible hissing sound. After changing the sound card drivers to creative ones, the problem stopped... So maybe your problem is also a sound driver issue. February 5, 201214 yr This is sort of out there...But I used to get some very strange soundcard behavior with a cheapo < 350 Watt power supply. Between the CPU, ATI 4570, and a couple other things it would hiss and sputter like a drunk Alaskan in the Yukon anytime any sort of computing labour was going on. Throwing in a (overpriced) 450 watt supply from the local computer shop solved it all. Patrick Houghton
February 5, 201214 yr Author Motherboard is Intel DH67CL which delivers a 10 channel HD audio. It does not have an additional sound card.I have fs9 in another drive and in that iFLY 737 is installed.Very strangely even that developed same problem.Other than these two (ifly 737NG in fs9 and in fsx PMDG NGX ) no other default aircraft is affected. I understand Wilco aircrafts create dll problems, couple of days back I installed Wilco 737-300 in fs9.Could that be the problem ? If that is so, I wonder how that can affect fsx in another drive ?Ramana Nandyal Ramana Nandyal, i7 2600,3.4 GHz,16 GB RAM,Window 7 64 bit,1 TB Memory,Saitek Pro Flight Yoke,Throttles,Rudders FSX Gold,REX2, UT2
