February 5, 201214 yr So yesterday, after I installed RC with my key, I opened radar contact I did a full flight with no problems.Today, when loading a new flightplan to RC, i got runtime error 5, and RC shut down.I open again, and now all my flightplans don't work anymore. It seems it doesn't recognise anything of the .pln anymore. Then, I reinstall it. (Just RC) And now, even my key doens't work anymore.Frustrating.Can someone help out? Thanks.Eric
February 5, 201214 yr Author So, I solved the key problem. But, still getting the .pln problems. They don't load, and when I click controller info, all radios are 0, and I get a message unable to set cruise altitude to 0.
February 5, 201214 yr First, are you starting RC if running VISTA or Win 7 with shortcut property set to run as admin?Make sure RC is bypassed in any security application that might prevent it from accessing various modules. Make sure the runtime libraries listed in the 713 topic were installed and registered in Win OK.Have you browsed to the correct folder where .plns are stored? This is under your documents folder as Flight Simulator Files or Flight simulator X files. Make sure your flt/wxr/ path is set to this as well. Every time you set that path it must be completed and not canceled. What planner are you using? Are those files created in FS9 or FSX (XML) format? Those are what RC can read. Here's a test you can run with certain planners. If you have FSX, under your My Documents folder create the Flight Simulator Files folder where FS9 plns are stored. In your planner export to both FS9 and FSX formats. In RC just for opening the plan browse to the Flight Simulator Files and load the .pln from there. Do not change your flt/wxr path.See if that does anything. Now we need some of your information on your setup. For now I'm assuming you are using RC on the same PC as FS.First you need to check your registry path to FS. Use the free registry repair tool available from this link. Right click on it to run as admin:FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool (36KB)Since you reinstalled RC you should again update FSUIPC getting the lastest full and interim FSUIPC updates from here:http://forum.simflig...pdated-modules/and then install the latest makerwys.exe from here:http://forum.simflig...ional-programs/Start RC and run the scenery rebuild from within RC to insure you have correct airport data for RC. After it all completes make sure in your RCv4data folder you have files r5.csv and a4.csv of significant size and the date-time stamp by looking at the file properties (right click) to see if that is your last update. Now you have checked your .pln file and the RC data files.Regarding RC data files do not open the .csv files in any spreadsheet application to modify them. They will become corrupted. In most cases an error 5 can be caused by invalid plans or corrupted data.If it is a scenery problem using a different flight and plan might sort things out for now.Reply with your results here. February 6, 201214 yr Commercial Member is the .pln file a file that fs9 or fsx can read? or is it a different formatmaybe you can send me the .pln that you have problems with.can you load a .pln from the tutorials without any problems?jd JD Read my blog
February 7, 201214 yr Author Guys, I forgot to post a lot of info about this error. Sorry. I kind of solved the problem. I'm using FSC to generate the flighplans, and saving them as a RC file .pln. After I got the error, no FSC .pln files were opening correctly. So, I opened a default FSX .pln, and it opened without problems. After that, I tried to open a FSC .pln again, and it worked! However, in some flightplans created by FSC (one example SBJV-SBSP) I'm still getting the runtime error 5, and have to redo the whole process of above. Maybe it is some config about an airport/sid/stars? I'm running win7 64bit. Always running everything as admin. FSC with Airac 1201.
February 13, 201214 yr Author So, I started RC today to see if the .pln files that were causing the error were still doing so. Turns out, now they aren't. :/I create the flight plan with FSC, then save it as RC .pln. When I open the file, sometimes I get the runtime error 5. So, I just restart my computer, and there you go, the plan is now working. Any idea guys?
