February 9, 201214 yr They're both exactly the same, and they're both quality products. These days these types of purchases literally come down to aesthetics. Which one would look good in your case on your motherboard with your CPU cooler? Which one is the right color. It sounds silly, but it's very much true. February 10, 201214 yr HiBoth of those RAM links seem to be for the wrong RAM. The OP's mobo and cpu are designed for Triple channel DDR3 RAM which usually comes in 3 x 2 GB or 3 x 4GB and so on ie in 3's. The links I see are for 2 x 4GB RAM which usually indicates that it is Dual channel DDR3 RAM so putting it in an i7 940 would effectively slow it down.Ask new egg for 3 x 2 GB Triple Channel DDR3 RAM?PeterH Edited February 10, 201214 yr by peterhayes
