February 9, 201214 yr Hi everyoneI was hoping someone could shed some light on why the cloud presentation at high altitude is so poor.I am using REX and Active Sky v6.5, but when cruising at height (approx FL200 and above) the cloud drawing is appalling, in one quadrant of the sky there will be BKN or OVC, then right next to it it will be clear skies. There seems to be very poor blending of each of the weather stations weather reports.See screen shots below. Has anyone had this/solved it/got answers? Many thanks in advance! Oli
February 9, 201214 yr No screenies for me... my work network seems to have blocked themThe same happens with FS Metar via FSUIPC and I suppose with all weather applications. I think it's a limitation of MSFS rather than a fault with anything else. After flying out of an area of thick cloud have you noticed the air behind you has miraculously cleared?Regards,D Edited February 9, 201214 yr by Dave_Morgan
February 10, 201214 yr This could be because your weather program is not loading in weather data for some stations. For instance, if ASV doesn't know about a weather station, it leaves it blank, which, in turns, leaves the sky clear. If you're using ASV6.5, try this - at your own peril though...http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=wxmapping.bin&CatID=root&Go=SearchBryn Streaming at twitch.tv/brynmwr
