Hi everyone, hope you're well! I'm using the latest version of PTA and P3D V4.2. I've been using PTA for quite some time now and I decided to look around for some different presets to use. I came across one called the "thopat" preset, and installed it. It appears now that since I've changed presets, the cloud shadow effects no longer work for some reason, and I have very foolishly lost my backup of the original shaders etc that came with the sim, and so if anyone can upload them from their own backup of the originals for V4.2 and give me a link or direct me to a place I can get the default ones from V4.2 and copy and paste them manually that would be great. My main question is what on earth could the "thopat" preset have done to cause my cloud shadows to not work anymore? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! --Yorkie
Hi folks, sitting on board or on the ground I wonder that aircrafts seemingly cut through clouds without any effect. Despite the fact that they displace air and moisture by their bodies and induce a lot of turbulence by fuselage, wings, and wing tips, almost nothing can be seen from this. Except trail cons produced by the plane itself give us a hint, but you know what I mean. But I remember a photograph I made back in 2005 from the displacement and turbulence behind a Fokker 50 or so. After their take-off in EDDT they passed an apparently very thin cloud layer, and for the first time I could see what is was missing (so desperately 8^)... On the right hand side you can even see the effect fading away, as the aircraft left the cloud layer. Who else can share some snapshots like this? Thanx in advance!
OliverDK posted a topic in The Prepar3d ForumIt seems that only the clouds in frame have their shadows rendered. Couldn't find any references to this. Let me know if it has been posted before, and I'll take it down.
Hi guys, while in cruise I have a strange effect using ASN. Seems like if some clouds (not big ones, but little clouds especially) are not completely depicted and they become completed as long as my aircraft it's near them. I noted this effect especially on cruise in VC. Not tested in spot view. I'm using ASN with all default settings. It's a layer problem or something else in your opinion? It's not a popping effect (like in ASE), seems like if clouds is partially drawn and become complete as long as my aircraft approach them. Any helps or suggestion? Thanks so much in advance for your help.
