How do I use the "Quick Look" feature with an Apple Keyboard?
If i may, I think what he is referring to is to go into Joystick & Equipment > Keys and look for Numpad-0, Numpad-1, etc. on the left and reassign the view/quick_look_0, view/quick_look_1, etc. to other suitable keys that you do have. I may be wrong but I do believe this would work. Hope it helps.... -Jon

Aerobask Lancair Legacy
I purchased the Lancair Legacy a couple days ago and I must say, that it's a challenging little bugger to fly. I am not used to the speed of this puppy. The full flap landing speed of 95 kias is certainly something i'm not used to. There are a few little quirks (one is the misspelling of "Landings Lights") that I can overlook. But another is that I can't locate a handle for the park brake. Is there one? I know I can assign a key or joystick button but I thought this was a little unusual. I also was having some issues with some bluish colored shadows but I believe that was caused by the Real Terra Haze plugin. I am trying to update to version 3 but the org forums have been down all day for maintenance. Overall, I really like this plane. I just have to get used to the landing speeds and quick handling.....

EZdok camera or something similar for X-Plane 10?
You're right Mark. In the PilotView manual, Sandy mentions this as the reason for having the ResetRollOffsetOnStartup option in the PilotView ini. There was no "roll" axis in XPlane when PilotView was written as there were for the other axes. He must be using some other dataref to accomplish this.XCamera has been performing great for me while using GA aircraft. I haven't tried it with any liners yet but hopefully will later this week.

Just a thought.....Do you have the PilotView plugin? You'll need to disable that.

Photo+normal scenery
May be helpful to post the contents of your scenery_packs.ini just in case.....I have messed that up on more than one occasion.

Help regarding frame rate and memory pagefile
Control Panel (view by large or small icons)>> System>>Advanced System Settings From the advanced tab Performance section choose "Settings" Then choose the Advanced Tab and click "Change" under the virtual memory section Uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives." and then choose No Paging file and finally click "Set". You then need to acknowledge the warning about Windows not being able to provide details to help troubleshoot problems......

Skymaxx V2 ... wow
I had a similar experience while flying the JarDesign A320-Neo today near Richmond, VA. I wasn't running EFASS on a second monitor but it did certainly kill frame rates. Maybe it's because SMP is rendering more clouds because of a more accurate weather injection? It might be hard to tell as support at EFASS has been noticeably absent as of late. I wish I had held off a couple of weeks before I shelled out the money for it.......It's a nice app though and hopefully it will not go offline.

World2Xplane Error
Thanks Tony for the reply. I edited the residential.csv file and got the issues sorted. There were a dozen or so errors that I was able to correct. The following rows I didn't see any typos but were still throwing errors so I deleted those three rows: 09:33:34.961 ERROR - File objects/houses/US/NV/RES_14.90x17.78_nvhouse17.obj cannot be found in X-Plane or Resources. 09:33:34.961 ERROR - File objects/houses/US/NV/RES_14.90x17.78_nvhouse32.obj cannot be found in X-Plane or Resources. 09:33:34.961 ERROR - File objects/houses/US/NV/RES_10.00x28.50_nvhouse37.obj cannot be found in X-Plane or Resources. I also wanted to add that I was incorrect that there were no errors in the log while processing the file as is evidenced by the lines referenced above. In the future, when the world-models folder is updated, will l need to manually edit the newer file with these changes too? Thanks for the help..... --Jon

World2Xplane Error
I have been trying out world2xplane and have downloaded all of the required libraries as outlined in the tutorial. I'm reasonably certain I have everything in the correct location but I keep getting warnings when I launch xplane about the scenery not looking correct. I checked the log.txt file and see a few errors similar to these: Failed to find resource 'objects/houses/Us/AZ/RES_10.00x28.50_azhouse43.obj' at 'Custom Scenery/virginia-latest/objects/houses/Us/AZ/RES_10.00x28.50_azhouse43.obj' Failed to find resource 'objects/houses/Us/AZ/RES_10.00x28.50_azhouse43.obj' at 'Custom Scenery/virginia-latest/custom objects/objects/houses/Us/AZ/RES_10.00x28.50_azhouse43.obj' I have checked the world-models folder and indeed those files are not present. I don't receive any errors when processing the .obf file for virginia-latest from within world2xplane (beta 0.5.1). I also downloaded the latest world-models folder so i'm not sure where to go to find the missing files. Can anyone offer a suggestion as to what I should try next? --Jon

GNS530 RNAV Vertical Navigation
I have been enjoying the new Carenado CT206H. I have tried flying a few RNAV approaches with the new GPS and it works fine except I can't seem to get it to do vertical guidance. I haven't flown too many RNAV approaches before and don't really know if it's possible to do with this GPS. I see that there are options to set vnav altitude data but I was under the impression that was sort of a way to help calculate descent rates. I have also tried activating appr on the AP while at the IAF and the IF but I still don't seem to get any vnav help. It's not a huge deal I was just curious. The approach I tried was at KRIC (EPICS RNAV (GPS) RNWY 16) --Jon Why is it that right after I post something, I THEN find the answer? I have been googling this for two days! lol....Oh well, maybe this will help someone else too. http://developer.x-plane.com/2014/03/new-approach-capable-gps-navigator-in-x-plane-10-30/#comment-8508

Hurricane Hunting
With a hurricane sitting off the coast of North Carolina, I thought it might be interesting to try and fly through it. Is there a default aircraft that anyone can recommend trying? If now default ac, then I may be willing to purchase something. Thoughts are with those along the coast of NC tonight as well......

ATC Compatible with X-plane
This is a great piece of software. Moving maps, sectionals, auto radio frequencies, airport diagrams, departure/arrival plates, AP and really good ATC. This is a great fit for XPlane if you're looking for ATC in the U.S. not to mention the outstanding support response, receptiveness to new ideas and continuous improvements and bug fixes. I can't speak too much to Heavy Metal AC as I only occasionally fly them but for GA, this is definitely worth your dime.....
