Texture Problem - Textures look pixelated

Featured Replies

Been having this odd problem maybe someone could help explain what's going on?When I set the AA and AF in the nvidia properties I get these horrific textures, these problems go away when i set it to application controlled, and let FSX handle the AF and AA.This is on a 7800GT.

When using override, you must also use FSX's texture filtering. I use anisotropic. Also, make sure FSX anti-aliasing is unchecked.

You could rollback to older nvidia driver. The newest driver isn't the best one especially for an old card.Good luck!

That will have no effect with the OP issue. Just a heads up.

ZachHow's this going to work?

Surely if you've overidden it - it can't work - enhance, yes, - that would work? :Straight Face:IMHO you should not force AA and AF at the driver level. The best results I see is when I use AA and AF in FSX and "enhance" both in Nvidia CP and/or inspector. Whilst it is true the override may work it can also give rise to unpredictable results. BTW this is just my opinion. :Hypnotized:RegardsPeterH

You will get shimmering if you completely disable texture filtering within FSX. Regardless of rather or not you're using override or enhance application settings.

Thanks for the replies...will try!

ZachThanks - to me override means that. As I say using nVidia override gives unpredictable results and IMO it is a fallacy to use such a setting in FSX.But, each computer setup is different and what works for one will not work for everyone.PeterH
