  1. Open your fsx.cfg with notepad. DX10 preview will add a new section like the following: [DISPLAY.Device.YOUR_GRAPHICS_CARD .0.0] Mode=3840x1080 Anisotropic=1 Make sure the resolution is 3840x1080. Good luck!
  2. I guess it is a bug of SMAA Injector. Try changing your desktop resolution to 3840x1080 before running FSX.
  3. Thanks for the comparison. However, My Nvidia GTX560 Ti doesn't seem to work in DX10 with SMAA. DX9 is better but there is a shimmering problem. Another problem is SMAA doesn't work well with very thin line like the ones of AirCreation Trike Ultralight.
  4. Nice pictures! Could you test flying over Manhattan with Max Scenery and tell us your FPS? Thanks!
  5. simmerhead,It looks like you have a flashing texture problem because of bp tweaks. Then set water to high 2.x is the way to fix it.ps. a high bufferpool will decrease your FSX performance!
  6. Try1. Turn on AF in FSX and Force it to 16x in NVCP.2. Use 2x SGSSAA (4x if you can run it with 30 fps :( )good luck
  7. Tokyo Haneda (RJTT) is also a good one to test your setup.good luck
  8. Try:1. Add a 'NIGHT_THRESHOLD' to you fsx.cfg in section [GRAPHICS], and set the value lower than the default 40962. Use FSWC to adjust night reflectionGood luck!
  9. You could rollback to older nvidia driver. The newest driver isn't the best one especially for an old card.Good luck!
  10. xamil,Do you have a secondary monitor connected? Disable it from the NV Control Panel.
  11. xamil,One more thing. Make sure you use nvidia inspector to edit FSX profile AFTER successfully running FSX with SP2 installed. I recommend the following steps:1. Install FSX2. Install SP13. Install SP24. Run FSX5. Run nvidia inspectorGood luck
  12. jahman, It is not necessary to run FSX before SP2 is installed. MS will tell you to do so if it is necessary. When the first time FSX is running, it will detect the hardware and generate several files. If you run it before the SP2 is installed, those files could cause a conflict with SP2 and generate a warning that xamil and I have encountered. So I recommend him not to run FSX until SP2 is installed.
  13. xamil,Do not run FSX after installing SP1. Install SP2 first. That is how I avoid the problem.Good luck
  14. Add following line to your fsx.cfg in section [main]: CursorAutoHide=1 Good luck!
  15. fakeflyer737, This will cut your fps in half. Try 4x Supersampling Transarency AA instead. Or upgrade to a better GPU. Good luck!
  16. I'll tweak it first. Try this:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/318918-automated-tweaking-and-tuning-tool-for-fsx/
  17. Happy New Year!It is a long time for me to visit the forum. I am surprised that there is no discussion about NVIDIA built-in FPS limiter. Unlike the external FPS limiter, the built-in FPS limiter works very well for me. However, Windows XP doesn't seem to support this function. So you will need Vista or Windows 7. And you also need NVIDIA Inspector 1.9.5.7 to enable this feature.290.53 Driver for Windows 7/Windows Vista 32-bit:http://us.download.n...tional-beta.exe290.53 Driver for Windows 7/Windows Vista 64-bit:http://us.download.n...tional-beta.exeNVIDIA Inspector 1.9.5.7:http://www.benchmark...nvidiainspector
  18. I had the same problem before when I use the /3GB switch.
  19. Sorry for late reply. I recommend the following site for SSD reviews and informations: http://thessdreview.com
  20. I've seen report using a SSD eliminating terrain blur. Maybe it will help you the AI stutters as well. Using a ramdisk has many disadvantages like limited space, data restoring hassle, cpu loading increasing, etc. A SSD will be a better solution in my opinion. Though I don't have a one, either. Hope someone with a SSD can give us a feedback.
  21. I know a ramdisk is a lot faster than a SSD, but a SSD is not fast enough?
  22. Christopher, Thank you for reminding me. Scenery and autogen could affect the loading time tremendously.DavidRegards
  23. The time FSX takes to load after you click 'FLY NOW'. Thanks in advance!DavidRegards
  24. NoahBryant,Thank you for sharing the information. Could you test the loading time with a 7.5 or higher LOD radius? RegardsDavid

    Turn off autogen should help.
