February 11, 201214 yr Hello FolksI was wondering if anybody here had come to the conclusion (as I have )that filing pirep reports to VAs once you have climbed the Virt novice-to super duper Captain status is rather pointless.Just one more program to start (Pirep recorder) and faff about with.I have decided that I will select my flight as usual from (Airsource in my case) but that will be purely to make sure of its Kosherness ,the filing and messing about bit i will now not bother with.Cheers Andy Edited February 11, 201214 yr by HoratioWondersocks

February 11, 201214 yr Andy,It's all for fun, so if it's not fun for you then nothing wrong not filling in the optional data when using Airsource.
February 11, 201214 yr Author Most VA's I know off have ACARS so it's all done for you.Hello RobI think you misunderstood my original query. All the VAs that I use have automated methods of pirep filing (acars as you say) I am not talking about manual pirep filing, but bothering to pirep at all, whether manual OR automated , I cant really see any point , apart from your initial gaining of ranks ,there are only virtual pounds/dollars which mean not a lot to me really .My sole concern these days when I make a flight ,is to make a good landing ,something I still cant always manage after years of trying ,that is the challenge for me in FS .Cheers Andy

February 11, 201214 yr Author Lord knows, I did, Andy . . . I had no idea what you were trying to say . . . is it possible that we may be sipping at the nog this afternoon? lolNay Chuck ! Tis nogless that I am (well A little nogette perhaps).AndyBasically Chuck what I am trying to say is that i really don't need to be a VA member any more.I will stick with HAG (still working my way through the ranks there ),and there quite challenging in there requirements for progress as well .And my old favorite EuroHarmony , but all other flights (the majority)will be on my own ,provided they are taken from from real world schedules that good enough for me.
