March 4, 200422 yr Folks, I've finally got my new pc, see below. I am in love. This thing is a God, and I'm still shaking my head at how it looks with the sliders moved up passed Ultra Low.My old machine had an integrated 8mb video card, so a gig of ram and an Radeon9800Pro with 128Mb ram adds a new dimension somewhat.....Anyhoo, after years of reading AVSIM and looking at posts regarding FSUIPC and other stuff I can now branch out and discover the exciting world of FS add-on's. Can anyone tell me where to go (settle!) to find out info. for beginners on add-on's? I did a search under FSUIPC, but didn't see anything of great use.I'm also looking at some of the favourites like MSMeteo and Ultimate Traffic, and will start with relevant websites. What on earth is FSUIPC??? Maybe someone can post a link for me?CheersTimPentium4 3000mb 800FSB1024RamRadeon 9800Pro 128MbAudigy sound
March 4, 200422 yr The official site has a bunch of information on FSUIPC. http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlHere is a good post from the author with details of what it is and what it does:http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?...4694406c26576be ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
March 4, 200422 yr Thanks for that.I've had a look, but it seems to be a site to check out when you're completely up to speed with what it's all about.I'm new to this, so need it dumbed down a bit.Anywhere I can go for beginners??Thanks
March 4, 200422 yr For onlineflying without the hassle of FSUIPC/SB/SBRelay, have a look at www.flightproject.netThey have the one-tool no-fuss-no-bother solution to online flying with FS2004 and FS2002.stclvax
March 5, 200422 yr Author Commercial Member Hi,FSUIPC registered version gives you many features and options to control your sim environment. Just check out the documentation and look at the options section. Just a few areas: Weather, Battery control, message control, limits, joystick and button customization/assignment. In addition, it gives you unlimited access to non-accredited add-ons - this mainly pertains to older add-ons made for FS2002 or earlier. I highly recommend it for two reasons.. #1 you'll get a bunch of features that you'll likely use and #2 purchasing it supports future development of FSUIPC.. which just about every add-on made depends upon to talk to FS.If you're into weather, you might also take a look at ActiveSky2004.. we have a forum here at AVSIM.Hope that helps!Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
