February 14, 201214 yr HiIf I start a flight with 0% traffic at EGLL I get 35 FPS, I then changed my traffic settings to 50% and frame rate dropped to 14 FPS which is I suppose ia understandable. I then changed traffic settings back to 0% expecting frame rate to be the same at 35 FPS, but no............. all I get now is 15 FPS. I know some will say do not change settings in flight but why is this happening ????Thanks Paul Edited February 14, 201214 yr by paul123
February 14, 201214 yr That traffic is still in memory, waiting to be flushed... The proc still has to keep track of it, and devote resources, like prediction, addressing, when was it last used, how big it is and so on. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
February 14, 201214 yr PaulYou can use an autosave function which seems to refresh the various buffers I believe that there is such a function in FSUIPC4 but there may be others. There are posts here on AVSIM about auto save. A "manual" save would also woek but you have to interrupt the flight to do it.I'm not sure if ALT+Tab or ALT+Enter might also work - my tests on thes combinations are inconclusive.RegardsPeterH
February 14, 201214 yr You can reload the scenery with a Ctrl-Shft-R, or whatever key combination you wish to choose. I think this will flush whatever is there. February 15, 201214 yr Refreshing scenery will load AI again and give you twice the traffic you had before. This shouldn't matter when switching it down to 0% but it's possible.
