February 17, 201214 yr Hi- has anybody managed to get the microstick to function as in-cockpit mouse in VC view? This is with the Thrustmaster Cougar stick and throttle, using FSX button and axis assignments. It worked at least once, though I have no idea how to set it up....letting go of the stick to use the mouse during landings gets a little hairy at times.thanks,Sean
February 17, 201214 yr Try this:In the Foxy software, go to edit, then preferences, then default options tab.Make sure the " assign mouse to microstick" line has a check in it.You should then be able to use the microstick as a mouse... Don B
February 17, 201214 yr Author wow- that was fast- thanks Don for getting back to me so quickly. Checked that and it's already enabled. I'm also using the 'default for games' profile which is supposed force the stick as mouse. No luck so far though. I've no way of telling whether it's actually generating positional data since the stick doesn 't show up in the analyser in Foxy. Any way to test this?Sean

February 17, 201214 yr Author OK, now that's bizarre....just downloaded the default for games profile into the stick again and I now have the microstick back....P.I.C.N.I.C (problem in chair, not computer) Thanks for your help, Don.Sean
February 17, 201214 yr IF I am not mistaken, emulation mode needs to be enabled for the use microstick as mouse function to work properly. When you redownloaded the profile into the stick, it put it in emulation mode.If it happens again, say after a reboot of the computer, you just probably need to set it back to emulation mode again.I use the Foxy Launcher for this - it is located under supporting applications folder in the Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar folder.Click it once puts a white airplane icon on your taskbar, click it once and it turns red, which is windows mode, then again it turns green, which is emulation mode. I usually leave it on my taskbar so I can switch back and forth as needed... Don B
February 18, 201214 yr Author That's great- thanks again. I've had these things for years and never even looked at this. I'm having a good look at this now- it goes into windows mode on click, but not into emulation mode on the second click.... the cursor still moves though. I'll start reading the helpfiles.Sean
February 18, 201214 yr You are most welcome.Yes it certainly can be a somewhat complex program, but can be fun to learn at times, and frustrating at other times! Don B
