Hey fellas I am at my wits end with fsx. I am having a problem with stuttering. The best way to describe it is when i am at a low altittude and look out the window the scenery will hesitate for a split second then resume again. At higher altittudes it is less noticable but still there. I guess I would call it micro stuttering. My system is a 2500k at 4.6 stable, 8gb ram, GTX470, FSX on its own VRAP, Windows 7 64 bit. I set my system up as per NickN's guide. Now the stuttering is there no matter what scenery, aircraft, weather, display settings, and config settings I have tried. I defrag with O&O defrag. I have tried 5 different drivers, locking framerates, and just completed a fresh reinstall with only fsx and sp1 and sp2. Stutter still there. For the hell of it I did another reinstall on my primary hard drive. Stutter still there. Now my performance is very good with good steady fps. Its just that stuttering when I look out and see the scenery that is annoying. Is this just how FSX is and I have to live with it or am I missing something?

Arjen was having the same issue, as was I on a past machine. This one seems elusive, but the general thing in common is "good FPS". What are you locking the frames at and what program are you using (hopefully Inspector)?

I'm locking them at 30 with Inspector and running unlimited in FSX. I have also tried just using the fsx limiter while disabling the Inspector limiter.

That's what I would have suggested. If it is what I'm thinking about, it's a slight FPS "surge"-- just enough to be irritating. Maybe someone else can weigh in, but I think Arjen's thread ran it's course to no avail.

Ya that is prolly a good way to describe it. If I'm flying the NGX I usually dont notice it unless I look for it cause the rest of the sim runs pretty smooth and I'm busy in the cockpit during takeoff and landing. It just amazes me that with a fresh install with default scenery, and aircraft that it is still there. My PC blazes threw anything I throw at it except for FSX.

Ya I have tried the cfg configurator and been threw my fsx config trying all kinds of settings. The funny thing is no matter what I do it really doesnt get any worse or better. I'm starting to think my PC is cursed.

I had the same thing with my new computer for a couple of months until I found the solution by trial and error. I am attaching my fsx.cfg in case there is something there you can try that you haven't yet. Who knows something might just fix the problem.
