February 18, 201214 yr Hey,I know i have been to the 737 cockpit, but i missed the pusback procedures.just wondered, how do you talk with the ground, i mean you put the interphone on, but then what do you need to do to talk to them?thanks( : Daniel choen
February 18, 201214 yr You don't need anything to talk to them, it's an automated sequence. Just sit back and enjoy. :) Dave Taylor
February 18, 201214 yr Typically the conversation goes something like this:Ground to cockpit, bypass pin is installed, walk around complete, we are ready for push. Roger. You a cleared to push (tail South, straight back, whatever)Captain, you are clear to start engines. Roger, starting 2 then 1.Captain, pushback is complete, set your parking brake. Roger, parking brake is set you are cleared to disconnect. Then you'll watch for the bypass pin and a wave-off from the ground crew. The overhead interphone switch can be on or off, I believe. You'll probably just use the bottom toggle on the yoke which is for the interphone. Matt Cee

February 18, 201214 yr thhanks! so basically i don't need to press anything in real life? You need to use the intercom toggle on the yoke or select Intercom on the ACP and then use a push to talk. Matt Cee

February 18, 201214 yr No, because you are using the intercom, not the com radio. But before we get lost in real life procedures, you DO know where to find the pushback option in the PMDG 737NGX...? Or are you only interested in real life procedures? Edited February 18, 201214 yr by J van E
February 18, 201214 yr If you have any of the FS Dream Team Airports or FlightBeam's SFO, you might want to give FSDT's GSX free demo a try. It provides full interaction with the ground during push back and does a good job in automating all of the pushback calculations. It also provides a lot of other ground based functions (e.g., catering trucks, fueling, luggage loading & unloating, etc.). It works well with the NGX and other aircraft. Buying the full package will allow you to use it at all FSX airports. February 18, 201214 yr yes, i do use the NGX pushback option, and i even been into the cockpit when the did it but didn't pay attention, so now i am breaking my had trying to remember how it's done, thanks. In the PDMG 737NGX pushback is an option in the FMC (go to Menu > FS Actions > Pushback) and all you have to do is set it up and press start. You don't need to enable the intercom or do anything that's done in real life. You only have to release and set the parking brake when asked to do so. So having been in a real cockpit won't help you here. :( Edited February 18, 201214 yr by J van E
