Smoke is blocks

Featured Replies

I installed some effects and texture files for freeware and payware planes recently and something seems to have messed up the engine smoke. The smoke that comes out of the engine when you first start the plan up and if you blow up the P51 from accelleration. Does anyone know what .fx or texture flie which could be corupt?Thank You

Just do an repair installation with your FSX disc and it should be fiine.

Best regards, Steffen

Unfortunately I am away from my sim computer for a fet days so I can not find the file name.It is a texture bmp file hat is used for all smoke effects.I would wait before trying a FSX "repair", particularly if you have a lot of addonsor customized panels, etc. After a quick Google....You most likely need a new "FS_1.bmp: file or a "FS_Smoke.bmp" file. One of those was probably corrupted by a poorly designed addon. For anyone who has had this issue download Gauge Recovery from the Avsim file library. I just did the fx repair for my version of FSX and it solved the problem. Thank you to those who responded.
