February 24, 201214 yr I'm very new to scenery design, still learning as I go. I currently use ADE9X, IS2, and SBuilder. The latter is the one I know least about! Also, I use FS9 with FSG mesh, UT USA, and GE Pro.I need help excluding a default FS9 road that runs under a new taxiway I added. I confirmed that it is a default road. Here's how I'm creating the exclusion:1) Open SBuilder and create new project.2) Start FS9, then connect SBuilder to FS9, red crosshair depicting aircraft position appears.3) Press poly button on top tool bar, and "draw polygon" around section of road to be excluded, using position of aircraft as guide in placing the polygon points. Close flight sim.4) Open polygon properties box and select exclusion box. Add layers to be excluded (I've tried layer 6,7,8,9,10,21-29 because that was what was suggested in other forums).5) save project, then compile bgl file. Place new bgl file in scenery file of airport, which is already activated.6) Restart flight sim.No matter what layer I choose, the road still appears. Interestingly, I can make the road disappear by creating a new airport boundary on layer 10 (vtpp file) using SBuilder. However, at night, the UT USA street lights still appear, suspended in air, where the road used to travel. These lights hover over part of the new taxiway I created.I'm not sure how UT works, but I'm assuming if I can exclude that road, then the lights should go away. Am I right?Am I creating an exclusion polygon correctly? Am I using the correct layers to exclude? Can anyone give me a list of FS9 layers and what objects they contain? I thought roads were on layer 6.Any and all help excluding the section of road is very much appreciated. February 24, 201214 yr Don't do much fs9 scenery any more, but the terrain exclusions work on LOD13 areas. So set the LOD grid in sbuilder top LOD13 and make sure your exclusion poly is covering the right LOD13s for the road.It sounds like this is a UT road, not a default one. Default roads are on 5 and 6, but UT might be different, for example IIRC they offer the option of draw roads over water, or water interrupts roads. For roads over water UT would have to use some level 8 and above. On worst case you can open a copy of your SBuilder project, and using the LOD5 numbers find and append the UT or default RD files, and check the properties to get the layer for the offending road. For UT you will have to experiment with a few of the files because they are split up by major road, minor road, residential, etc in separate files. For the UT lights you might need to put down an object exclusion box(es).scott s..
