Downloaded the game and played it for only an hour before bed (it only showed up in the UK at around 11pm..!). Really nice to have it play well on medium settings on my aging system. I like the mission structure, the presentation, and the scenery is very nice. I already know I'll be playing out the base-game for sure. However, there's a giant, glaring problem to me, and that's the lack of TrackIR. I'm on the verge of building a new system almost exclusively for flight sims, of which I play for immersion. Without head tracking, it just feels like a game and not an experience. I've put tons of hours into sims I don;t even like much (IL2:WingsofPrey) just because it felt amazing to gaze around at nice scenery. If Flight can just get trackIR in there, it'll be a permanent fixture on my hard drive, and I'll probably buy every scenery add on for it's lifetime, like my favorite using this purchase model, RoF.. If not, then it might just be a desktop icon I think about before I click on something else. That said though... great effort, I truly hope it brings in new blood into the community.last little suggestion: it'd be great to get some birds, car traffic, some animated waves breaking on shore to add to the feeling of a living world.. right now it's a bit static and google-earth-like. :)Mike

I agree. TiR MUST BE FIXED! I truly hope it is. It will make Flight much more enjoyable for me, and im sure many more users here. My TiR 4 broke a few months ago and use FacetrackNoIR in FSX, but I would buy a TiR 5 just for Flight.

Brilliant summary! I couldn't put my finger on what was strange about the scenery, but u gottit. Lifeless, no animations and yes, textures too much like GE. But it's great for fps, I was able to max all settings

Well I was up at 4:30am so I checked out the new Flight.Download, install and setup was about 30nins or so. I was in a panic because it needs 10gig and I only had about 10gig available so I had to move and delete a mess of files to get the space freed up.The intro was long and I had to go through a few tutorials before I was able to free fly. I also tried out a few of the challenges to gain points. The biggest problem I had was that I couldn't log into Microsoft Live via the game. I also had to sign up as some sort of XBox user but it still failed. The strange thing was that I could sign into Microsoft Live using a browser just fine. I'll try again tonight after work I guess.I can only fly with the lowest settings. Anything other than low in any setting gives me a choppy view. Just for the heck of it I maxed it out and I was getting about 1 fPS which was pretty much unusable.I'll have to play around with it a bit more before I commit to buying the rest of the islands.Well that's about it for my first impression. My specs:AMD Athlon 64 dual core 5600+ 2.81GHz64 bit Windows 76 gig ramGeForce 8600 GT with 512meg ram.Perhaps I should can some of the extra processes I have like SQL Server and a lot of the crap Visual Studio loads up. It may gain me some extra cycles.

Another problem I just ran into. I sure hope this is a bug and not a feature!!! Looks like there are no night time ground textures
