EXPANSION

Featured Replies

Ok downloaded it and it runs good but what will the future be. Will there be ATC support such as VATSIM or online, will there be new sections of the world periodically, will there be the ability to get real weather, will third party vendors be supports, flight planners, etc, or is this it, the features that the free download has?

Microsoft will probably pick and choose. It's probably for sure that there will be expansions to the simulation (gaming engine?) to keep us hard-core simmers happy, but I won't place any bets on whether they will be free or not.As said above, only time will tell. :search:

Only just got back in to flight simming and Avsim after a year or so - pardon me whilst I find my feet again!

"Whether providing the nuts-and-bolts details with which we design and build our aircraft or the data we use to re-create the entire planet. . ." - that sounds promising :)

They hint at new content everywhere, like this on the official Flight page:"We’ve only scratched the surface of how we can deliver on our vision. There are a lot of opportunities on the horizon to continue to evolve the experience, and the team is already hard at work designing ways to fulfill the promise those opportunities represent. We’re excited about continuing to provide new and interesting ways to fly."I guess it depends on how successful this initial free version of the sim is, not only in terms of how many downloads it gets in the first 24 hours, but how popular it is over time as well.. A good way to measure interest in future paid add-ons is to see how many bother to actually download the free airplanes they have made available so far. Those who can't even be bothered to create an account and download those are unlikely to pay money for future addons. Not sure about ATC, flight planners etc. This game caters to a completely different market than FSX. Complex procedures and ATC would go against their new "vision". I would instead expect more holiday destinations and colorful biplanes.
