March 1, 201214 yr I downloaded and installed it this afternoon, and just spent an hour or so trying out the Icon and Stearman. My first version of MSFS was FS98. I really got into MSFS with FS2000. I've also owned Flight Unlimted, Flight Unlimited 2 & 3, Fly!, Fly! 2, XP9 and I'm also an avid combat flight sim fan and have owned just about every title in that genre in the last 20 years. I'm comfortable with the likes of PMDG, Level D and Accu-Sim. I consider myself to be a fairly accomplished flight simulation enthusiast. After reading so many negative things about Flight I didn't have very high expectations. Still I gave it a shot, it's free and didn't cost me a penny... and I've been very pleasantly surprised.I'm most surprised by how well it runs. The FSX lineage is readily apparent in the graphics however it now runs without the stutters, texture flashing and autogen popping that plagued FSX. The default scenery looks pretty bloody good to me, perhaps on a par with an Orbx scenery region (minus the highly detailed Orbx airports of course). The flight dynamics appear to me to be at least as good as what FSX had "out of the box".Now having just spent an hour trying out the Icon and Stearman Flight appears to have passed the real litmus test for me - I enjoyed it.So much so I am going to buy the extra aircraft and scenery later on this evening. To me at least it appears to be very much in the spirit of Flight Unlimited 2 and 3.Give Flight a shot. It won't cost you anything. You might even be pleasantly surprised like I was.Oh, and FSX and FS9 are still on my hard drive, the sky hasn't fallen and the world is still turning. Edited March 1, 201214 yr by EngineRoom Nick
