Ruined aircraft model...

Featured Replies

A few years ago, I purchased Abacus "Private Pilot Training" for FS2000, which I liked very much for the good modeling of the Socata TB-10 Tobago and TB-20 Trinidad (IMO, the best for MSFS).With FS2002, these aircrafts were working fine, but some problems could appear if you tried to use these aircrafts for the AI traffic (some parts were ignored). In FS2004, whatever you do, some parts are not drawn (see the attached screenshot), the cone and the propeller. I know these are old models, certainly designed with FSDS, but my question is:Is there any way to convert these aircrafts so that they work fine in FS2004?Thanks for any help !!Erichttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/67396.jpg

Hi,I've been told before the reason for these missing parts and animated propeller is probably beacause FSDS v1 was used on such 'older' models. So Kevin is right... the answer is no. I think you'd need to have the source for the model so you could update it in FSDS v2.Jim

There are two critical problems with the models.1) They are FSDS v1.2) They are Abacus.Hope this helps. :)

Them being Abacus is no problem. At the time they were released Abacus was one of the best addon companies on the market, but that was probably before you were aware of the world around you so you're excused for not knowing.

"at the time", I think thats the key phrase here, yeah I got Corparate pilot when it was first released and it WAS very good. Now they seem to have been left trailing in the wake of "better" payware companies, who actually push the boundaries of FS addons, rather than Abacus who now just seem to offer payware versions of planes you can download for free.Shame really, I did really enjoy corparate pilotDan.

The reality is these probably won't ever work for the reasons already posted. But...There's a section of FS9.cfg called FrameCallNoWarnWithin that section there may be entries for the models your trying to load. Toggling that setting *MIGHT* allow for the missing parts to be draw...probably not. Since you've tried everything, if this is already on your list, can't help ;). Otherwise, post back your results. I'd imagine you'd need at least the FS2002 update for this to work.Best,sg

I think I am right in saying that that flag just removes the incompatibitly warning when loading an "old" plane.Dan.

Answering "No" when the warning box asks if you want to disable the incompatible features does allow the missing parts to be rendered when being used as AI aircraft.....but the catch is that the aircraft is then invisible from cockpit and virtual cockpit views. Either way, you lose.
