RC and UT2 callsigns

Featured Replies

Similar topic already exists but due to the fact that it's older than 180 days, it wouldn't allow me to reply to it.I have a little problem where RC calls American Eagle 'American' instead of "Eagle Flight". There's a whole bunch of flights departing from ORD with this callsign. I believe I have a correct addition in the c4.csv, please double check this entry.AMERICANEAGLE,eagleflight,,0, 0

and/or;eagleflight,eagleflight,American Eagle Airlines Inc - USA,0, 0I know UT2 generates ai on the fly. It also does not get a radio code until paste a certain phase either after CD or after ground request into a taxi stage. If UT2 like the classic FS9 versions has an aircraft.cfg for its generated ai, look up the paint for that aircraft and then see what this line reads:Here's one section from UT2007:[fltsim.94]title=F1AICRJ*AA *MQ *00sim=F1AI_CRJmodel=panel=sound=texture=AA MQ 00kb_checklists=kb_reference=atc_id=N123XXatc_id_color=0xffffffffatc_airline=EAGLE FLIGHT atc_flight_number=1000ui_manufacturer=Flight One AI Aircraftui_type=Canadair Regional Jetui_variation=American Airlines Operated By American Eagledescription=Flight One AI Canadair Regional Jet Only for use as AI Trafficatc_heavy=0atc_parking_types=GATEatc_parking_codes=AALXwhich shows a radio call of two words "eagle flight"You also need a space between american and eagle in your posted line.Try this if the airline radio call reads two words here:eagle flight, eagle flight,American Eagle Airlines Inc - USA,0, 0 (exists now in c4.csv)and in your posted line:AMERICAN EAGLE,eagle flight,,0, 0 for which you need to add to your scripts folder described next:Now go into your RC scripts folder, then for both pilot scripts and controller scripts find:eagleflight.txtCopy that file renaming the copy "eagle flight.txt". You do not have to change any wav titles.Your safest option without modifying RC files is to edit the aircraft.cfg sections for all of those types used by american eagle and change the atc_id line to one word "eagleflight" as:atc_airline=EAGLEFLIGHTFor UT2007 the ai aircraft folders start with F1UT_I spotted CRJ7s, E135s, and E145s at ORD today via flightaware.com's KORD airport activity but there may have been more types. In UT2007 the CRJ 700 was there and I didn't look for the ERJs.Real world current fleet data can be found here:http://en.wikipedia...._Eagle_Airlines airline descriptionhttp://en.wikipedia...._Airlines#FleetFor the RC changes back up your c4.csv file in another folder to keep a safe copy. As always be sure you use a text editor, not a spreadsheet, to change .csv files. Be ready to delete the "eagle flight.txt" script files you copied and renamed if RC crashes.Note that in the aircraft.cfg same the parking code of "AALX" which stands for American Airlines Express for which American Eagle supplies regional flights as code shares under contract.

Thank you Ron, I will do some experimenting based on your instructions.I did not realize that the space actually mattered between American and Eagle. I also noticed this morning that JAL's B773 ORD-RJAA was called Juliet by RC, I looked on the aircraft label and the callsign generated by UT2 was Japan Airlines International 9. In this case I created this entry in csv file:JapanAirlinesInternational,JAPAN AIR,,0, 0which after your post I understand it should be:Japan Airlines International,JAPAN AIR,,0, 0Am I understanding you correctly?

JAPAN AIR,JAPAN AIR,Japan Airlines Company Ltd - Japan,0, 0is already in the c4.csv file and the script fiiles are labeled JAPAN AIR.txt. If the aircraft.cfg has atc_id=japan air it should work. You can edit carefully as noted changing "Company Ltd" to International if you wish.
