Godzone New Zealand scenery & ORBX

Featured Replies

A very Good evening everyone,Just something I stumbled upon a few days ago.The scenery that's created by Godzone for the New Zealand area looks quite good. But since I have installed the New Zealand scenery of ORBX, I am wondering if it's worth to add the Godzone airport scenery. Is there anybody who has them both installed? What's the result? ThanksLuc Brusselmans Belgium

Hi Luc. I also came across the same scenery and issue. I recall some other treads that asked this question. My understanding is that you can get Godzone scenery and have it so Orbx NZ shows for the south island and that the Godzone scenery shows for the north island. And, that you can install the airports from Godzone and position them so they take priority and I believe they have even created patches or are working on them to make them compatible with Orbx stuff.I think more info might be available on their website.

Probably the best way to get an answer is to drop Robin, the developer, an email. It's listed on the web site, IIRC.I've had a small amount of contact with him on other matters and found him to be quite nice. His reputation is high in the dev community, IMO.

Hi guysJust a quick intro to Orbx compatibility for Godzone scenery -- compatibility has turned out to be a bit of an issue, but I am getting there. 'Real NZ Nelson' has a patch available on the product page, which makes it work well with NZSI, and the Southern Lakes Adventure (Wanaka and Tekapo) is almost ready to go. The holdup here is that this is an older scenery ('legacy' in marketing-speak), so I couldn't resist tweaking a few things.Next patch will be Real NZ Marlborough, another legacy scenery. All new projects will include Orbx-compatibility to some extent, but of course they won't include Orbx features, as I don't work for Orbx. A new Wellington International will be the first release after NZNI, and I'll know better how that will work after Orbx release NZNI.You can keep an eye on any patch releases here.-Robin Corn

Here's a heads-up -- the Southern Lakes Adventure patch is now available, and to encourage FTX NZSI users to try some 'Real' New Zealand scenery, Southern Lakes Adventure is available for half price when you buy the other compatible scenery -- Real NZ Nelson -- at the same time.
