Thanks - I'll keep looking and see what I can come up with.Actually, I'm finding it can be useful to have the 2D always in view - but it would still be nice to have an easy choice about it. Aesthetically it sometimes seems like a throwback to FS2K2... though after a while you don't notice it so much.I also need to find a way to turn off the terrain warnings - helicopter flight makes them a little, ah, hyperactive. I'm sure there's a toggle in there somewhere...

Alan, if you start at page 43 of the Garmin manual, it talks about all the Terrain Operation (what your looking for is on page 45). It appears to only be on or off. It describes how to change the settings in those pages. You'll find the manual here: C:Program Files (x86)GarminGNS400W-500W TrainerManuals, if you did the default install of the Trainer.Glen

Thanks, I'll check that out. I've actually got a hard copy of the manual, but I moved fairly recently and it's still floating in and out of view as I unpack and rearrange things. Had forgotten completely about the manuals in the Garmin folder (moving-related vapor lock). Now to see what I can do to get way down in the weeds... then try to remember to turn terrain back on for fixed-wing mountain flying...
