March 19, 201214 yr Thanks - I'll keep looking and see what I can come up with.Actually, I'm finding it can be useful to have the 2D always in view - but it would still be nice to have an easy choice about it. Aesthetically it sometimes seems like a throwback to FS2K2... though after a while you don't notice it so much.I also need to find a way to turn off the terrain warnings - helicopter flight makes them a little, ah, hyperactive. I'm sure there's a toggle in there somewhere... Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
March 19, 201214 yr Author Alan, if you start at page 43 of the Garmin manual, it talks about all the Terrain Operation (what your looking for is on page 45). It appears to only be on or off. It describes how to change the settings in those pages. You'll find the manual here: C:Program Files (x86)GarminGNS400W-500W TrainerManuals, if you did the default install of the Trainer.Glen Gigabyte z590 UD - i5 11600k 4.9 GHz - 64gb 3600 MHz ram - RTX 3070 ti - multiple ssd - 34" 3440x1440 100 Hz Curved - Saitek Yoke Pedals Throttle Quadrant x2 - TM T16000m x2 Throttle - Win 11 Pro
March 19, 201214 yr Thanks, I'll check that out. I've actually got a hard copy of the manual, but I moved fairly recently and it's still floating in and out of view as I unpack and rearrange things. Had forgotten completely about the manuals in the Garmin folder (moving-related vapor lock). Now to see what I can do to get way down in the weeds... then try to remember to turn terrain back on for fixed-wing mountain flying... Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
