March 7, 201214 yr Curious about why airport lighting is off during the day. I flew into Buffalo this morning where it was snowing and there were no lights on. Is this normal? Does FSX behave where it only puts on lights at dawn, dusk or night?
March 7, 201214 yr I've often wondered if it would be possible to manually switch runway lights on during the day in dull weather.Would be a handy feature.
March 7, 201214 yr I believe the criteria is IFR or after sunset within FSX. I've never really thought about it beyond that, though.Just a little tid bit: In the real world, lights aren't going to burn all day. Controlled airports have the lights on at specific times. At most uncontrolled fields (ie small county/city airports) runway lighting is controlled by "clicking" the push to talk button on the radio.7 presses within 5 seconds =OnAfter that:3 presses in 5 seconds= Low Intensity5 presses in 5 seconds= Medium IntensitySo part of my before landing check when in the soup on approach is to key the mic 7 times to make sure the lights are nice and bright. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
