March 8, 201214 yr Hi,Today is my first flight with SP1c, one of the things that slowly emerged to me was a possible effect of Depth Of Field (DOF)? Fellow photographers would be familiar with this term, but for non-photographers, DOF essentially is when you have your camera pointing somewhere, depending on your aperture and shutter speed (on still camera that is, video cameras I'm not quite sure about), there will appear to be a band of sharpness and slowly blurring away.I have observed this on the NGX post SP1c, where there is a band of sharpness followed by slowly degrading sharpness to textures that are not so HD. This wasn't apparent for me before the update (could have been there all along). Has anyone really picked this up? And if it is in fact a new feature to SP1c, what do you think about it?Other stuff wise, I love the new colour scheme and the sound, haven't got much time to figure other stuff out yet though.ThanksBrendan Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
March 8, 201214 yr Hmm...I doubt this is something that is purposely implemented. It's probably something to do with your video card settings. Patrick Houghton

March 8, 201214 yr I haven't noticed that effect in SP1c, and I doubt it was intended. You can, however, emulate it using the ENBSeries plugin. It's got a DOF switch, and it actually works amazingly well. It's not without a performance impact, however, and I quickly grew tired of the effect. You can see it in this video, but it's hard to make out unless you watch in HD:
March 8, 201214 yr Author I use ENB as well, except I just use the settings that the AOA team uses. I had some other settings somewhere which I prefer more, but I can't find them, nor have I investigated on everything there is inside the .iniHowever I thought that was quite interesting to have DOF implemented (one of those things that you won't realise unless you purposely look for it). But false alarm afterall. I'll try to have it fixed up, because although it might look cool, it's not realistic if you are "there" in the cockpit, you eyes has great DOF so that effect shouldn't be there. Thanks all!
