March 8, 201214 yr I've been posting some advice elsewhere about how to lean the mixture, but I hadn't given it a try myself in MS Flight yet. So I just tried to lean the mixture on the RV6. Since there is no EGT gauge I have to listen to the engine. However, when I pull back the mixture, I don't hear nor see a difference until I am at 20%... after which you have a clear drop in sound and mp...Anyone here who managed to actually lean the mixture on the RV6?
March 8, 201214 yr Annoying, isn't it. I think it's basically if you are >5000 ft then lean till RPM goes down then back up a notch. And that's it. Sometimes I notice, while in level and steady flight, that pitch changes after moving the mixture, but it might be coincidence. You sure can't look at any gauges to determine anything.Again, the realism settings are "stuck" on the lowest common denominator. I'm sure this will change though.
March 8, 201214 yr I can't find the EGT either on our modelAnyway here is the link to its POHEXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFTPILOT OPERATING HANDBOOKRV-6A N86CGhttp://www.vansairfo...-6_2/RV-6_2.pdf Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
March 8, 201214 yr I cheat. :DDuring a climb, I'll go through the cruise checklist and skip through the other items until I'm at "lean the engine." Then I lean the engine until that gets checked off automatically.In cruise, I just lean until I lose power, then enrich until I get it back, then may be add a bit more.Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
March 8, 201214 yr yea I had the same problem in other posts, the engine doesn't change pitch or die down till about 17% mixture, regardless of altitude.
