March 9, 201214 yr Just wondering if anyone has had the problem of starting "Flight" only to find out it has reset all your missions and made you start with the intro mission. So frustrating after spending time on completeing missions. It has done it to me 3 random times now. It logs me in with my live account like normal everytime, but every now and then it resets my missions. I am so close to uninstalling. Has anyone else had this issue. I only have the game installed on one computer.
March 9, 201214 yr Are you using Windows XP 64?If so, that Windows version is not comptabitle with Flight. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
March 9, 201214 yr Here are some ides from the beta site with same issue:apparently it has to do with Career1.bin and other Career#.bin files We think it could be related to a virus scanner. Can you temporarily try disabling the virus scanner and see if that helps? If so, the long term solution is to make that directory an exception so the virus scanner won't look at those files. andMicrosoft Security Essentials is a virus scanner. You should see if adding the directory with the career files to the exception list in Security Essentials makes a difference for you.Hope this helps. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
March 9, 201214 yr I can confirm that I am using Win7 64bit and have not encountered this problem. Jon ------- Microsoft Flight Sim MVP Airport Design Editor FSDeveloper.com
March 9, 201214 yr Author I'm not running any third party virus software/ scanners at the moment. Do you mean disabling it in any windows default scanners? If so I will try that. Unfortunately it's an issue that happens randomly, so I will have to wait and see if it works in the long run. Thankyou for you replies. Much appreciated.
March 9, 201214 yr ok so, what you're gonna have to do is open an explorer window, like internet explorer for example (not chrome or firefox..or other)....copy and paste this, one line at a time· %UserProfile%\My Documents\Flight· %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Flight· %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\XLive\DLC\4d5308d3· %AppData%\Microsoft\Flightobviously exclude the bullet, you need to delete each one,,,,you probably will only have 1 or 2 of those directories pull something up, but either way, delete them all....you will have to restart your 'career'....but it should take care of your problem.oh yeah, that should work for anyone having the "cannot find XXXXXXXXXX carrer/.bin" issues.
March 9, 201214 yr Author Ok great. I will try that. Excuse my ignorance, but when you say copy and paste it. Where in the explorer window am I pasting it? In the Browser?
March 9, 201214 yr You can copy each line (starting with % ) one by one in the Start meny search option and hit Enter. The lines that are posted are shortcuts to various folders.
March 9, 201214 yr Either on IE or open My ComputerThen on the address bar paste what fastcarfastplane wrote. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
