Hi Chris Its better when removing add-on scenery to remove them from the fsx scenery library first before un-installing. you could try reinstalling and see if that sorts out the problem ( and also try renaming the fsx.cfg file) bob

Ahhh, the wonders of Windows, Microsoft and FSX... :Sigh:I get black screen on preview box sometimes by default when I load the FSX and then while FSX is loading I do something else. If I click on FSX icon and just wait, usually all is OK. The same problem if I try to load a flight then...Usually, I only have to close the FSX, quit FSForce manually as it doesn't close and restart FSX.Repair is IMO the worst solution there is: it reverts to default FSX and usually exe.xml and dll.xml, while some addons still have modules in FSX installed, thus causing the crash. This problem you are now in looks like you have two options, where 2nd I personally would prefer:1) search for errors, and step by step try finding what's wrong2) just uninstall everything, delete FSX completely and reinstall

Hi BobThanks for your suggestion i will try that before i wipe the lot but i have a feeling its beyond repair now.The annoying thing (if that doesn't work) is that i will not know the culprit for next time....one of those mysteries i suppose.@Word Not Allowed... Yeh its a real pain to run Fsx sometimes, it can leave you wondering will it load, will it crash, will i fly today?!, so on that note i will take option 2 of your advise...wipe the lot and start from scatchand keep everything crossed for a few uninterupted months of Fsx running smoothly.Cheers Guys
