March 10, 201214 yr Are you okes concerned about deck angle when the airplane is light on take off or not really? What do you do'if you are, lower thrust setting or just let it accelerate past V2+20?FRED
March 10, 201214 yr I'm not a real world NG pilot, but a real world pilot non the less. If the airplane is light it will climb faster and at a steeper angle, all other things remaning equal, and as such, you get to a higher (safer) altitude faster. I wouldn't see a problem if I had to maintain a "higher than usual" pitch angle in order to keep my initial climb speed. Just my 2c
March 10, 201214 yr The derates and ATM usually keep your pitch from getting too high. Typically you're going to pitch to around 20degress max. Not an issue. I could see a ferry flight with a Max Power takeoff getting well over that, but it's a ferry flight - hang on and have fun. It's part of flying a twin-engine aircraft. If you had a low altitude level off, you could enter V/S and spin in a more reasonable climb, but I wouldn't do that until maybe approaching EFAH. Matt Cee
