Not able to edit .cfg file W7

The settings say I have full control, but all I am able to do his select, I can not change anything. W7 is new to me. Am I missing something?ThanksRoy NH

No, I'm trying to edit withen the .cfg file.

Right click the .cfg file, and choose to open with Notepad.You should be able to edit.Note: Always a good idea to backup your original cfg file to have in case you need it, should something go south...And btw, welcome to the forums!

Glad you got it Ray, pretty much any file that is user editable like that, like xml or cfg you would use Notepad to open it. Once you do, Windows will remember that setting, next time you need to edit it, it should look like a notepad file and you only have to double click it.Have fun!

RoboRay - I was using Free File Viewer and couldn't figure out how to use the edit feature.
Oh, ok. I was just curious because Win7 doesn't have anything associated to .CFG files by default. Like Don said, once you tell Win7 to use Notepad to open it, you can set it to always open .CFG files in Notepad when you click on them.
