Are any of you aware of this?
How dare they expect to get what the seller claimed to be selling...

DELAY 2.5 update if you use ORBX products
From JV: We are testing the beta of 2.5 and we've come across two showstoppers on Orbx's side that affect terrain and ObjectFlow. Until we fix these two issues and release an updated Orbxlibs you won't be able to see ObjectFlow driven airports correctly and also we need to change how FTXCentral works. I will announce when we've tested our fixes and you can move to 2.5 ---(next post)--- Why are you guys reporting FTX Central crashing after I specifically announced this topic some time ago advising *not* to move to 2.5 until we had updated our software? <bangs head against wall> ---(next post)--- We've fixed FTX Central and are waiting on ObjectFlow.dll, then we will push out a new Orbxlibs. Won't be too long.

Kerbal Space Program
I haven't been posting anything lately, but KSP is now in beta, and the 1.0 release is finally expected to soon arrive. Here's my latest experiments with a mini-shuttle that's something of a ######-child of the US shuttle and the Soviet MAKS concept... Full mission album here: http://imgur.com/a/DXk9r#0

Maybe a little more news on Dovetail Games's plans for FSX . . . .
A Dovetail "Flight" could certainly be released in 2015, but it would pretty much have to be just a rebadged MS Flight.

Prepar3d V2.4 OOM
Ummm... off-topic for the thread but on-topic for the movement of the thread. What is the logic of having a combined general CTD forum for all sims instead of allowing crashes to be discussed in the forums for the actual sims, where the users of those sims will see it and be able to participate? People that don't use that sim aren't really the target audience for the post.

I requested a simple Activation ..waiting.. waiting...
Uh, yeah... don't change your motherboard (without releasing your software license first) Friday night and expect Lockheed to be in the office Friday night or over the weekend. Uninstall Prepar3D first so that your license is ready for re-use. Next time, I guess.

More pix of my weird clouds in V2.4
I'll bring you some cheese next time.

What's worse... whining about problems with a product you bought, or whining about other people discussing problems with a product they bought?

thinking of moving over to P3d
They are truly huge... Not only for immersion, but also situational awareness. It's kind of hard to justify not trying something that comes with a 60-day no-questions-asked money-back-guarantee.

Flight SIm picture upload site? I've forgotten the link....help :)
It automatically converts to JPG any images that aren't already JPG or PNG. If you've got BMPs or something, convert them yourself to PNG first if the JPG conversion process is reducing your image quality. I've never noticed an issue with it myself.

Flight SIm picture upload site? I've forgotten the link....help :)
Imgur is another good one... trivially easy to upload and link from.

Has V2.4 fixed your terrain shadows?
The terrain shadows are in the right places now... they just flicker constantly, at all quality settings.

Windows 9 To Be Free Upgrade!
Windows 10? Why not just go to 11?

2.3 -> 2.4 update report
I'm seeing a slight but constant flickering in both terrain shadows and in vegetation shadows. I had to turn veg shadows off so almost the entire ground area isn't flickering.

Cortana? I think my cousin drives one of those. Nissan builds it, right?

No BayTower forum atm....
Yeah... an updated installer and transponder fix for Prepar3d would be greatly appreciated. The BT forum's been gone for months, though... doesn't look likely to come back. :( Nice paint, though!

A 670 vs 970 comparison. Brace yourself, spectacular results
And I was planning to sit on my 660ti until the spring refresh... I don't think that's going to happen now, not after seeing those results!

Stutter - Adaptive VSync could offer a solution
No, they don't. True full-screen was removed deliberately for better multimonitor support. They don't seem overly concerned that this also effectively cripples antialiasing and the 1/2 refresh options. They unfortunately threw out the baby with the bathwater.

Do NOT use GROUND_SHADOW_TEXTURE_SIZE=4096
Heck, I find that shadows look more real as the resolution goes down. I think mine are at 256.

I am at a complete loss! (Reverse Thrust Problem)
My Logitech G940 is unusable without the registered FSUPIC due to both hardware and firmware problems (input spiking, axis reversal during movement, jitter and calibration range errors), but FSUIPC is able to tame them all. I'd have thrown the G940 away without it. It's got a lot of other nice little features, too. I think the autosave function alone just might be worth the price. I set the autosave as my default flight, so when I load P3D I'm right back in the same plane at the same spot, with all the controls in the same position as I left them.

Xtreme Cities Limited Release (Official Release Tomorrow) from Ultimate Terrain Group
Must I be the first to complain about the blurries in that video?

Just a quick and simple post...
I've said this before and I'll say it again, too... Microsoft: "Hey nVidia, if you don't make our flight sim look good on your drivers, we'll make sure your drivers don't look good on our operating system." But not quite so bluntly. Microsoft had a lot of leverage over nVidia. Lockheed doesn't.

Flight Dynamics
Heh, if you have ORBX Southern Alaska, try Dogfish Bay (AK07). One runway is straight up and down the slope of a hillside and the crossing runway goes over the hump so that you can't see the far half of the runway from either end. It should bring back some bad memories for you! Sloped runways are no problem for the user in FSX or Prepar3D. They just cause problems for AI planes (which of course, wasn't a factor in MS Flight). I'm very happy to find them in ORBX products.
