Calm winds in AS2012... 6kts in FSX

Featured Replies

Hey guys,Just thought I'd throw this out there and see what comes back. I will also submit a ticket soon after I post this.In AS2012 with the new SP1 beta --which fixed my overcast issue... thanks! :( --Networked with Simconnect, DWC mode, Force ATC Wind Lock, Force WX at Dest, FSUIPC 4.8 with wind soothing.I also had the same problem with the original release but can't remember if I had it with ASE.If AS reports that winds are 0 to 5kts, I will always get at least 6kts in FSX. Say something like the common 'Variable at 3kts', I will always get the wind variance in FSX, even with the wind lock on. I guess that is a good thing but the wind speed is always 6kts. Anything in AS that is 6kts or above will be depicted correctly in FSX.As I said, I will submit a ticket shortly. Just wondered if there were any quick ideas on something I'm missing. Thanks,Rob

Hi Rob,This is the ATC wind lock feature, which imposes a 6kt minimum surface wind in order to avoid default runway assignments which disregard wind direction when winds are "calm".
