March 16, 201214 yr Hey fallows, just wanted to let you know, my new machine is working like a charm smooth 20fps with maximum airport like mega munich and stuff, vatsim acvtive sky and the ngx on high resolution!,so let's get to the point, i'm alittle bit confused, how should i descent correctly? i mean, VNAV? level change? set the V/S? i alway at vatsim, there's no way that i am not, but when the controller is saying let's say for instence today from my flight, EZY512 descent flight level 130 level by tanet, i know that i need to be FL130 by tanet, i know that the vnav can do it, but always when i am on vnav when i am near descent the speed coming down very dangeursly, so always near the descen i set the speed via the black button (not sure how it's call) right now i am using Level change, when i have been into the cockpit, i can remmember the pilot using it so i am using it too. what is the correct way?also i am getting a error below the apu bleed something with descent, what is that mean?, thanks for any help in advance, regards.! i Daniel choen
March 16, 201214 yr Let me take a structured approach here :) -there is no "right" or "wrong" way to descent as long as you never breach any limitations. You can use VNAV, LVL CHG, V/S, whatever, as seems fit.-To be at FL130 by TANET, simply enter the restriction on the LEGS page, like /130 in the line next to TANET - on the right side. Should it be impossible to achieve that, the FMC will say DES PATH UNACHIEVABLE. This can be played around to some extent, but that is beyond the curriculum at this time :)-VNAV will never let your speed get out of safe range under normal conditions. However, if you would like to descend on a higher speed, you can input policy speed in the DES page in the FMC. 280 works well.-VNAV with SPD INTV will work reasonably similarly to LVL CHG.-The error under APU bleed is, I imagine, unscheduled descend error. It happens if you start to descend before reaching the cruise level input on the pressurization panel. --Peter Fabian
