Hiya guys,I did try a search on this forum - altering call signs, and changing call signs, but it came up with nothing! I'd like to change one of the call signs in RCv4, from Emerald harbor Air to just Emerald Air, which is the VA I've started flying for. Do you want to keep both Emerald Harbor Air and create Emerald Air with new audio and airline code with new call sign? Do you just want to change the audio heard keeping the airline code for Emerald Harbor Air?If you just want to modify the audio then you can edit in all of the pilot and controller .wav folders (see the rcv3 manual for organization) in Winwood with an audio editor and drop "harbor" from the wav. This replaces just the audio and you do not have to go change airline codes in all of your ai aircraft.If you want to add Emerald Air then edit that same audio file collection (one for each voice) but save it as Emeraldair.wav as another .wav file. Then you need to define data in RC-scripts in folders pilot and controller scripts as:Emeraldair.txt and that would contain a single line Emerald Air using notepad or wordpad insuring you save in msdos .txt file type.In RCdata make a backup copy of c4.csv. called c4.chd or whatever so you can restore it if needed.Then right-click on c4.csv and selerct open with choosing notepad or wordpad. Do NOT user Excel or another spreadsheet or database editor.Search for Emerald and you should get:emeraldharbor,emeraldharbor,Emerald Harbour Air,0, 0Insert a new line after this:emeraldair,emeraldair,Emerald Air,0, 0Now in your aircraft.cfg for the paints you are using for ai and user aircraft section you create a new flightsim section for your paint or an existing one you are going to modify you need:atc_airline=EMERALD AIR (is the radio call returned to RC for ai by FSUIPC).which defines the radio call sign returned to RC via FSUIPC.You probably, though not used by RC4, should set a parking code such as:atc_parking_codes=EVA (for Emerald Virtual Air) and in the afd files of visiting airports add EVA to parking space codes so AI will prefer these spaces.If you are creating a new ai traffic schedule with a new section for your ai paint then you need a unique title in that flightsim section such as :title=F1AI319*EA *EA *02 (this is a modified Ultimate Traffic 2007 ai title used in the aircraft.txt file for creating an ai schedule trafficxxxx.bgl)and in the new section modify ui_variation as;ui_variation=Emerald Air (used for selecting a user aircraft in FS)To be clear, RC4 only uses the radio call in aircraft.cfg and the others in aircraft.cfg does not concern RC.The line in c4.csv connects the radio call to the airline as selected in the RC aircraft tab and to the script and wav files to be used.The easiest way is to just modify the emeraldharbor .wav file and use the data as is for Emerald Harbor Air to avoid creating ai schedules and editing aircraft.cfg files if this can suit you needs. It depends how far you want to go -- your choice.

I thought it would be a lot simpler to do :( I dont have an audio editor unfortunately or I would go for the easy option of editing the wavs. thanks anyway!Rory

Check to see if you have it in any cddvd add-on application like Nero. If not here is a link to a free one. Download audacity from here;http://sourceforge.n...ted/?q=audacityYou open the winwood wav file, audition it (the play arrow) to find the 'harbor section, drag your cursor over the area to eliminate, hit the delete key, then fileexport to the wav format to save clicking OK on the metadata pop-up and the file will be written to disk. To try this first copy the wav file of interest to a folder you can play in outside of RC. When you are done, in your winwood folder rename the wav to .bak. The copy the revised wav file from tha temporary folder back to the winwood folder.Here is a before and after wav image;You can see the area I dragged over in the first image. If you drag over an area and hit the play key you'll audition the area dragged over. After doing the delete reset the cursor to the wav beginning and hit the play arrow to audition the change before exporting. Also note the edit has an undo feature.The wav is mono sampled at 11025 is correct for RC.The example I used is winwood folder 55, emeraldharbor.wav. The pilot id is Dale Collins in the folder as a .txt file which if you read will tell you the voice and either pilot or controller.Consider in windows making audacity the default application for the .wav extension. That way just clicking on a .wav file will open it up in audacity with the existing properties ready for you to edit and export as a revised wav file.Just work on getting audacity set up and you'll be rewarded. I've used it to 'radio-ize' some test voices for the rcv5 beta.You'll be rewarded by only having one audio phrase to modify in each pilot or controller voice folder instead of all those data files.

Ok ron, thanks. I've downloaded the audio editor. I've made a start on editing and it sounds ok. There's still quite a few folders to alter though.Rory

A lot of those folders are aliases that do not contain wav files. There still are plenty left to keep you busy. Just be thankful you are only doing one wav per folder.
