April 2, 200422 yr Has anyone figured out how the ATC-id parameter in the aircraft.cfg file really works? The SDK claims that it determines the ATC call letters, as one might suspect.. however, I find that the overriding setting is in the Aircraft/Select Aircraft/ATC_name panel. Whatever I change there stays in place, regardless of any changes I make in the aircraft.cfg file..Where does FS9 store this ATC_name?? and why do my aircraft.cfg changes have no effect? Bert
April 3, 200422 yr The two, atc_id=N176CM (aircraft.cfg) and ATC name (Select Aircraft Menu) are the same. ATC name should probably have been named ATC ID. Changing the ATC name on the Select aircraft Menu will change the respective atc_id= in the aircraft.cfg file. The ID is only used when the game user is using that aircraft. It is not used by the AI aircraft, since they are assigned the ID within the flight plans. Download TTools202.zip for explanation of the makeup of the flight plans.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
April 3, 200422 yr Author Well, that is what I thought.. try changing the ATC name, however, and the aircraft.cfg does not change..From the aircraft.cfg file:[fltsim.0]title=Cessna Skyhawk 172SP Kangan Batman TAFE by RealAir Simulationssim=RealAirSimulationsC172SPmodel=panel=sound=texture=kb_checklists=Cessna172SP_checkkb_reference=Cessna172SP_refatc_id=VH-KBTBut, what comes up is a callsign I changed yesterday... see pictures...The mystery continues. April 3, 200422 yr Author Well, I found it...in Doc&SettingsApplication DataFS9Aircraft, there is a file called state.cfg...Contents:[engine.0]accumulated_time=1.240934[FltSim.0]atc_id=GCMTTricky, tricky... Bert
April 4, 200422 yr Hi Bert,Well, you are the expert now! :-lol You just told me something I didn't know! For FS2002, it actually changed the aircraft.cfg file. FS2004, has the state.cfg files that engine time and maybe other parameters, atc_id=GCMT are located. If you use different user files, each user can have their own set of parameters.Wonder what else one might try putting in the state.cfg file!:-hmmmThanks!W.
