Hello,Could anyone tell me why, during descent or landing checkllists, the FO announces "GPS UpDating".THE GPS receivers should be "updating" constantly so why during descent??Thank you..!\JL

Hi,I'd have to track down my old 747 pilot consultant on that one (he wrote the SOPs modeled).I would assume it's just a check to ensure the GPS are working.
