March 31, 201214 yr Hello! On the CLS MD-81/82, when I go to right or left wing view, there is only a VC. I see no wings, no window, bo engines and definetly no cabin. I have tried placing the texture files into the respective texture folders, chcking the aircraft.cfg and checking the model file. All seems fine. Does anyone have any suggestions? March 31, 201214 yr This is probably because the VC on FSX models is in fact not located 'inside' the exterior model. The way FSX models are constructed, is that they actually have two separate model files, one for the aeroplane exterior model and one for the VC, and when you switch from the VC to the exterior model, you actually switch from one model to the other. This is why you can put the VC from one FSX aeroplane into a different FSX aeroplane, because all you are really doing, is telling the sim to load up a different model.Because this is the case, anything that you can see from the cockpit (such as craning your neck and looking back at the wings for example) has to be added to the VC model in order for it to be portrayed in the simulation, and some developers don't bother with doing this in order to speed up frame rates, or because they simply don't think anyone will look in those directions.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 31, 201214 yr Author Very good point, and I totally see where you are coming from, however take a look at this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIRofRFEhXkAnyways, thanks for the quick reply! Derek MacPherson At the risk of sounding cliche, I love planes.GTX 770 / i7-4790K / 16GB DDR3
March 31, 201214 yr To see if that is in fact a mystery, try 'walking the camera' up to the cockpit from the wing view and see if the VC is there, if not, then what you are most likely looking at on the video, is a view of the exterior model with part of the cabin also modeled.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
March 31, 201214 yr Hi abasa12, Al :( the cls has a small control panel were you can disable or enable the vc or wing view /cabin hit shift 2 for the small panel were it can disable or enable things on the fly, should look like this make sure you press on vc for virtual cockpit and wv for cabin/wing view or try this gauge they made so fs starts with the vc and wing view when you start fsx.http://www.commercia...?showtopic=9761 Cesar Martinez AMD 7800X3D RTX5080 NZXT N7 B650E | G.Skill 32GB DDR5 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | Crucial MX500 (2×) | Crucial P3 Plus Monitor: Philips Evnia 34M2C6500 QD-OLED
March 31, 201214 yr There we go then, mystery solved. Not actually having the CLS bird, since I have Flight 1's MD and the Skysim DC-9, which is enough greasy nines for my tastes, I was limited to making an educated guess. Quite a nice feature to have actually, since it would speed up frame rates.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
