I have my FS9 on a dedicated drive - everything else is on the main C:\ drive. Would you install RC on C:\ or on the dedicated FS9 drive? Will it make any difference? Thanks.

For audio, RC does a lot of disk reading to assemble phrases into complete responses. Install it on the faster drive and if not an issue then put it on the same drive as FS residing in the same partition (drive letter). This helps with the Win disk caching system.

Do not install RC under any program files tree folder to get around some Windows security issues in VISTA and Win 7. Also, if on either of these operating systems, start your RC install by right clicking on the .exe and selecting run as administrator. If on Win 7 you will have to download some runtime VB6 .dlls no longer included in Win 7. See the long thread pinned at the forum top for sources and install methods.

Once your registration is complete, exit RC and update FSUIPC and makerws from the pinned links at the forum top and then restart RC and do the scenery rebuild again. Before this though make sure RC is excluded from any firewall and antivirus security applications as RC's frequent access to FS folders can trigger a security block.

For registration purposes be sure jdtllc.com is allowed through your pc and ISP spam filters.
