nvidia control panel and nvidia inspector - strange

Featured Replies

Hi,

I never had this issue before, but installed some new drivers, clean install. Created the FSX and P3D profiles in inspector. Ran both FSX and P3D and absolutely no AA.

Double checked and everything was right. Went into nvidia control panel and noticed there was an FSX and P3D profile. I had never noticed this before that Control panel was able to see the nvidia inspectors profiles. Ok, maybe they were there before, but the only way I could get the AA was to activate the profile in the Nvidia Control panel. But, I had used these drivers b4 and they were good but now getting that wavy line in the scenery during even a modest roll. Just to keep my sanity, I reinstalled the previous driver which I know for a fact did not have any issues, but the scenery line was still there. Control panel does not have as many of the options that Inspector has, so I am thinking that the settings that are being applied are coming from the Control Panel and not Inspector.

Any Ideas?

As both NVI and NV CP use the same driver data for the settings, NVI just gives us more options than the CP and whichever you apply last will be the settings that are applied to FSX. So opening NV CP last and applying any settings may override the same settings in NVI and vice versa. I always open NVI just before any FSX session and re-apply my settings just in case using other apps has changed something. As you say any profile you see in NVI appears in the nvidia CP but I haven't seen that effect the other way around.

Thanks Peter,

I set what I wanted in inspector and then went to control panel. I did notice this time in CP that some of the attributes said "Custom". I was not paying attention previously. So now I know that the inspector is working and has written the correct values. I just had never noticed before that CP actually displayed the profile that I created in the inspector. All is well.

Thanks again

Every time a driver is updated, it will reset the AA Behavior flags. In NV Inspector at the FSX/P3D profile look under the AA section. Look at the line that says "Antialiasing-Behaviour Flags". Make sure it is set to "None".
