Sorry to sound like a newb but when i ALT ENTER for the full screen mode should i see the menu bar at the top if not i think i might have a driver problem what do you think cheers.

The menu bar appears when you press the ALT key. It is no bug...the full screen key combo requires a key that is used for another command. I have found that i sometimes have to hit alt+enter twice before it enters/exits full screen.

If you're like me and get annoyed by that pesky file menu bar after you're done using it, to get rid of it again, just hold alt for a few seconds.
