April 7, 201214 yr Hello all So heres my problem.. I downloaded SWA, American Airlines, united and Delta traffic packages from woai for KLAX. Initially, none of them showed up at the airport, so i uninstalled the offending packages and reinstalled, and then all was fine again. Or so I thought. I'm pretty sure you'd all agree that KLAX is one of the busiest airports in the world, and thus you'd expect to see a great deal of AI traffic at KLAX. Not the case. Heres a screenshot showing an overhead view of KLAX and the parked AI traffic. Not a lot, as you can see. My AI density slider is moved all the way to 100%, so that can't be the problem, and all my other airports are appropriately populated, just not KLAX. I have noticed that there are a great deal of GATE SMALLs in the starting location list in the airport screen though, and not many GATE HEAVYs. Thanks for reading

April 7, 201214 yr Author Try Looking For LAX AFCAD.....But With Ai Sliders All The Way To The Right You Will Lose FPS FPS isn't a problem for me, I can maintain a comfortable 40 fps with every slider on max, its just the traffic problem thats bothering me :/
April 7, 201214 yr It would help if you let us know a few more details. Are you using the default AFCAD or a third party AFCAD? Default - not nearly enough parking, however you post implies a good number of gate small. I will assume then that you are using a 3rd party AFCAD. I will also assume that this is the default airport scenery. Based on all of the above (assumptions) I would think that in the AFCAD you are using the gates may be assigned improperly or sized incorrectly. Example #1; The GATE SMALL is to small a radius for the aircraft / airline assigned to it then it will not be used. SWA uses B737-700 (largest AC in their fleet) and the AIArdvark model for a 737-700 is 22m radius, then if the GATE SMALL is set to a radius of 21.5m then the 737-700 will not park there. Example #2; The author of the AFCAD file has a large number of spots assigned to now defunct airlines or airlines that no longer fly into KLAX. That would cause those parking spots to be unusable by the AI traffic you do have. Yor AI traffic should be arriving at the airport none the less and what you would observe are the aircraft landing, exiting the runway and then disappearing. If they do not arrive at all then your problem lies elsewhere. More feedback please. Best regards, Mel
April 7, 201214 yr Author Hi there thanks for the reply Mel, it's a third party addon for KLAX so I'm assuming it's a 3rd party AFCAD too, not too sure how to check this, I haven't seen any aircraft land, although I sped up the sim a little and the number of traffic didnt really change.
April 7, 201214 yr What is the name of the KLAX scenery / author? If it is a file I have or can acquire I will extract the AFCAD and take a look at it for you. However, if your installed traffic is not appearing at all then I would suggest that you may have flightplans that did not install properly for some reason. Check in your FS installation / Scenery / World / Scenery folder to verify that the WOAI traffic files are located there as they should be. Also you might check in you aircraft folder to verify that the relevant aircraft have been installed. Regards, Mel

Regards, Mel Hi there Mel, the scenery package I have was a freeware package downloaded from flightsim.com, filename lax3.zip I have checked those folders, and they are indeed installed as required. Thanks for your help with this problem, its much appreciated
April 8, 201214 yr I just checked LAX3 and LAXUD (a update) and there is no AFCAD supplied with the scenery. You are using the stock airport or maybe a AFCAD supplied by a 3rd party. If you would like to verify that you have a 3rd party created AFCAD you could send me a copy of it (PM me your Email address) or post the exact file name and I will take a look at it for you. If you are using the stock airport that will certainly place a huge limit on the available parking for your AI traffic. Rerards, Mel
April 8, 201214 yr Author Hi there Mel, I did have the ACOF Jetways and Terminals package that covered KLAX as well, but I deleted that scenery prior to installing the new KLAX scenery, I've tried to locate the AFCAD for KLAX but I don't know where to find it in FS9. Apart from that I have not installed any third party AFCADS Thanks once again
April 9, 201214 yr Your third party AFCADs should be located in; FS9 / Addon Scenery / Scenery folder or a scenery folder associated with scenery installed for a specific airport. Check the Addon Scenery / Scenery folder to see what is there. If you find nothing with KLAX or LAX in the file name then you are most probably using the default AFCAD since Bill Melichar's lax3 is made to work with the default airport layout. There is a 3rd party AFCAD available here at AVSIM, file name: klax_gates_194182.zip by:Ryan Chadwick, that is designed to work with Lax3 and will add a lot of parking for you. It is not entirely up to date but it is a vast improvement over the stock MS version. As Ryan's readme instructs it goes in the addon scenery / scenery folder. Give that a try and let me know how things go and we will procede from there. Mel

April 9, 201214 yr Author Hi mel I placed the new bgl file into addon scenery/scenery, and deleted the old KLAX bgl as I thought it might cause conflict. I opened up FS and this was the result I suspect that i'm doing something wrong..
April 9, 201214 yr I just took a look at the contents of your addon scenery and seen that you have two AFCAD files for KLAX. One named: AF2_KLAX.bgl and one named: afcad-klax.bgl. Since AF2_KLAX is for the scenery you are using you should remove afcad-klax.bgl and see if that doesn't start to make a difference. Also I see that you are running Windows7. Make sure you have your permissions and UAC set correctly. It may be that W7 did not allow the WOAI packages to install properly? Check FS9 / Scenery / World / Scenery for traffic files with the names or abbreviations of the airlines you installed and your Aircraft folder for the aircraft that should have been installed. A WOAI install problem could account for you not seeing the AI even appearing at the airport. Keep at it we''ll get you (FS9) fixed! Best regards, Mel
April 10, 201214 yr Author Hi mel, I deleted the other KLAX bgl and this was the result, im not too sure if its because i don't have enough airlines installed?
