April 8, 201214 yr How come my Grumman Goose with engines off is slowly rotating in place by itself when floating in water? Is it the wind or water current or what? Edit: Another Goose question. I understand there is no water rudder, so how is precision water control handled? This thing steers like a drunk mule in water. Edit2:Why won't the engines stay running on my Geese? I have both the FSX version and Ozx HD version installed. If I start them Ctrl E, they start fine but engines will die in about 10 sec unless I throttle up or take off. They won't idle. They die in throttle reverse 25% too. What gives? Seems to of happened since the Ozx HD install since I don't remember it doing this before.
April 8, 201214 yr Not that I'm aware of, although there probably is in P3D, or at least it is likely that there will be at some point, since it has the oceans and sea beds modeled. Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 8, 201214 yr You can use the rudder (the "air rudder"), though the Goose reacts very slowly too this, or you could use the engines for steering (more power on the left engine means steering to the right). The problem you described regarding the OzX HD Geese: I've experienced this, too. On ground I just gave throttle up and use parking brakes in order to keep the plane standing, but it is really annoying when it comes to descending or on finals. I guess there it is something wrong in the aircraft.cfg (replaced by OzX HD), but I'm not sure. But if I find out how to fix it, I'll post it here. Flo Florian
April 18, 201214 yr Why won't the engines stay running on my Geese? Just found this: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/3237-general-aviation-ozx-grumman-goose-hd-redux-120/#entry26578 Seems like you must never idle the engines. Florian
