April 9, 201214 yr Hi, there 's already a lot of threads in the forums (FSX related and non related) about this subject, but I have not been able so far to identify a unique answer to this question: " Is FSX more sensible to RAM speed or RAM latency ?" I know this is not going to affect FPS but only smoothness and microstutters, I know that CPU is by far the most critical component in an FSX tailored hardware, but in the end on an high end system, is it more effective, say, a DDR3 1600 CAS7 or a 2133 CAS9 ? Is there in the field any unique benchmark or user experience that can provide an answer, or, as usual for FSX, "your mileage may vary" and different users may experience different responses ? April 9, 201214 yr Christ, how often are we gonna have this topic? One will say this, other that, there is no realy proof. There were some tests, and I think it came out that its all the same if you run 1600 CL7 or 2133 CL9.
April 9, 201214 yr Author Thanks, that's all I needed to know.... Have a nice flight...!! Ciao AMD Ryzen 7800x3d, Asus ROG Strix RTX4090, Asus x670e-e, G-Skill F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR

April 9, 201214 yr AnandTech did a great article comparing speed and timings - Sandy Bridge Memory Scaling: Choosing the Best DDR3. It's going to be different depending on the chip, eg. AMD Bulldozer apparently benefits from greater memory bandwidth, but for Sandy Bridge this article clearly showed that even with the most memory bandwidth sensitive applications the difference between fast RAM and slow RAM is basically negligible. With FSX it's going to be even less important. Spend your money elsewhere... Cheers, Mike
