April 12, 200422 yr ...keep disappearing on me!I'm waiting in queue at NZAA behind a 767 behind a 737. All of a sudden the 767 disappears, and I'm looking down the hole of a 737 APU.Just in case I wasn't getting a complex, a minute later the 737 vanished!Given that waiting 10 minutes for takeoff clearance is not unusual, and given that UT is so awesome, then the problem has to be me!Please let me know what setting I've missed that I have to change to have the planes not vanish. Many thanksTim
April 13, 200422 yr That is a MS bug. If AI aircraft wait more than 5 min. they disappear.Dave FisherCYYZP4 2.8 GB 478P 533 MHZ CPUP4P800S Asus Motherboard512 DDRGeforce Ti 4200/128Maxtor 80 Gig ATA 133 HDhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
April 13, 200422 yr Hi, Im not completly sure what is happening, but if you go to settings>general try fiddling around there, or maybe lowering the amount of AI traffic. If you have installed a payware version of AI traffic try reinstalling it.Hope this helped,Jason.I
April 13, 200422 yr Hello,This annoying feature happens with any AI traffic, it looks like. Any wait over 5 minutes and they disappear. It would be nice if there was a way to adjust this to 10 minutes.Take care,Kurt
April 14, 200422 yr Unfortunately there isnt a way to adjust this at the moment.IN FS2002 aircraft used to get stuck for a long period of time and then traffic jams would occur so for FS2004 Microsoft decided to change the code so that any aircraft that was stationery for more than 5 minutes would be removed. The only way round this I guess is to turn your traffic percentage down. This only really happens at the busiest airports. SO most of the airports arent affected so bad.In my personal opinion I would have loved a slider that you could actually change yourself so you could change the time that you wanted but maybe that will be in the next version of Flight Simulator. The AI engine is only in its 2nd generation so it will only get better and better. Flight sim has come a long way and it will continue to do so Im sure.Craig
