Turbo boost on laptops with FSX

Featured Replies

Couple months back I got my new Asus Laptop, has an i7 up to 3.1GHz. I was just wondering why the Turbo Boost doesn't ''Fully'' click in on FSX? I get around 2.8Ghz which isn't bad I mean I can get around 40FPS with an addon Aircraft & Airport so not to massive of a deal. It would be nice to know if I could use all my Laptops power to get a few more Frames. Especially once the 777 comes out, if it's like the NGX should be fine though. I'm not sure on Over Clocking, I don't know how ha and I wouldn't want to mess anything up.

Cheers!

I often use my laptop which is like yours and what I've learned is over clocking a laptop is risky as they're easy to overheat! Done it so many times, it's more unstable so I'd say best to leave it as it is to avoid damage! I'm not an expert however so I may be off the mark!

True if you have an N53 witch has small & weak cooling fans....Not true if you have an G73 (G=gaming) with it's massive cooling fans oc:ng is safe & easy :good:

Kind regards

Ah right ok. I had to get a Laptop as Next Year I'm going to Oxford & Jerez so will need a laptop rather than a desktop, not that I'll have much time to use them ha.
