Night Flying

Featured Replies

just a quick question, does anyone know what are the most affective settings are to change when flying at night in order to get the most FPS. With me the FPS go down about 15FPS or so and its really noticeable around FTX YMML. Most textures you can't see, you only really the the airport and what's lit.

Oh and while we are on the topic of everything looking good, does anybody know what causes foreign objects to be seen in FSX skies like big white and black blotches that appear for very small amounts of times. I get them and black vertical lines, I think you would know what the are. What causes them is something else.

A big FPS killer at night is Ultimate Terrain's light bloom. It is a nice effect and I do use it myself, but there is no denying that it does eat frames, bloom and lens flare settings will do that too.

If you are using ORBX scenery then try turning it to "day mode" and removing the ORBX light effects...

Cheers!
