April 15, 200422 yr Can someone tell me which parameter - in which .cfg file , I need to alter to change the speed at which the Overspeed warning starts?Alternatively - how to remove it from a particular aircraft?Dave
April 15, 200422 yr I think it's in the .air file, not the .cfg file. You'll need AirEd to adjust it.http://perso.wanadoo.fr/hsors/FS_Soft/index.htmlAllcott
December 8, 200421 yr Hi Dave:Did you use AirED to solve the problem? If so will it work for FS9?Thanks,David :) P4 3.0GHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7600 GS OC 512MB Ram 150 and 120GB HD's Win XP PRO SP3 FSX Gold Edition
December 9, 200421 yr Hi Dave:How did you alter it?Thanks,David P4 3.0GHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7600 GS OC 512MB Ram 150 and 120GB HD's Win XP PRO SP3 FSX Gold Edition
December 9, 200421 yr I've used AIRED for FS9 to make changes in the AIR file and it works just fine. For instance, thanks to previous posts, I was able to change the reverse thrust setting on a couple of the jets (Lear and one heavy) to make it more realistic. So give it a try.

December 9, 200421 yr David I did use AIRED - but sorry to say I can't remember exactly what had to be altered - I know it was a "suck it and see" exercise.Best thing is to make a back up copy of the Air file before doing any alterations.Dave

December 9, 200421 yr Why would you want to change the "overspeed" setting? Is it not correct as written?
December 9, 200421 yr >Why would you want to change the "overspeed" setting? Is it>not correct as written? The best I can get out of the Lear45 before the "OVERSPEED" warning comes on is 334 IAS. P4 3.0GHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7600 GS OC 512MB Ram 150 and 120GB HD's Win XP PRO SP3 FSX Gold Edition
December 9, 200421 yr what altitude are you at, that seems good to me? alternatively, i just dont know how fast a lear can go.
December 9, 200421 yr Question is, why would you want to change the overspeed warning in a particular a/c? I have yet to find an aircraft that is not basically correct with this aspect of flight dynamics. If you are flying at FL300 to FL400 , you will be lucky to get an IAS of 310 to 280 respectivly. Remember, the higher the altitude, the thinner the air, the lower your IAS will be. Your ground speed will increase....but IAS will decrease with altitude.Harry
