April 15, 200422 yr Anybody tried Tims new T-33 in the library? I downloaded it and took it for a spin. Pretty nice little bird! Only thing is that I question the FDE handling. It wallows in a roll at any airspeed and Seems sloppy in handling. Were these birds really like that? I would've expected something a bit snappier. (No T-38 I know, but something smooth and "trainer like".) Maybe its those tip tanks... If they are full, I could see them making the roll enertia be a bit heavy.Eric AND
April 16, 200422 yr The defualt fuel load starts you off with less fuel in the left tip tank than the right, thus the roll. Also if you check the readme the plane is overloaded at 100% fuel load, Its recomended to reduce the tip tanks to 50% each before flight.

April 16, 200422 yr DeweyUse extended search, enter Tim Conrad as author, and hit search. This will also bring up a Marine OV-10 you might want to try out.David
April 16, 200422 yr I have been using this plane a lot. I find it flies as I understand these old birds did. I have a neighbor that has over 350 hours in one. He said that the handling of the sim model is pretty much as he expected. The plane was a trainer. Thus it did not perform as a fully equipped fighter does. I can roll this plane with precision 4 point rolls. I do not understand your wallow complaint. I (we) think it is just fine. Also, watch your gages. These had a very narrow power setting to keep the engine in the green and not shock cool it. You cannot vary the power settings greatly fast. You must slow it down in stages to allow the engine to cool slowly. Lots of fun if you want to fly it right. Lots of fun if you want to thrash it around too!
April 16, 200422 yr Did you search by the authors name? The file library works best this way. I don't even bother searching by file name if I know the name of the author. Just use extended search, enter the authors name where it says "Author", and don't add or change anything else. David
